Helena Rüegg completed her degree in bandoneon and music teaching at the Conservatory of Rotterdam in 1998. Since then, she teaches Bandoneon and holds Tango-Seminars at different conservatories and on festivals. In these courses, she teaches the characteristic stylistic elements of Tango to the participants and, together with them, she elaborates arrangements based on the different period of this musical style, from its beginnings until the Tango Nuevo of Astor Piazzolla.

In 2002, for the Rotterdam Conservatory Codarts, she authored the interactive DVD „One World, Many Musics“ about Tango and the Argentinian folklore.
